Tim Lapham has nearly 30 years’ experience fitting hearing aids across both the private and public sectors. From 2005 to 2009, he served as Director of Hearing Care at Specsavers in Douglas. Founded in 2009, Island Hearing Ltd is a Manx-registered company that has continued to grow successfully. Tim remains committed to expanding his expertise and staying up to date with the latest technological advances. He is highly qualified and experienced, and is registered with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council), the BSA (British Society of Audiology), and the BSHAA (British Society of Hearing Aid Audiologists).
Rachel has been involved in the business since September 2009 as joint Director. She became clinic manager in March 2013, when the clinic opened on Station Road in Port Erin. Rachel oversees all administrative aspects of the practice and is the welcoming first point of contact for customers at reception. Rachel qualified as a Hearing Care Assistant after passing her exams at Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, in May 2015. She is committed to delivering exceptional customer service at Island Hearing and continues to broaden her knowledge of hearing loss and the wider business.
To support the continued success of Island Hearing, we are delighted to welcome Connor, Rachel’s son, to the team as a Trainee Audiologist. Connor began his course at Aston University, Birmingham, in September 2025 and will be mentored by Tim throughout his training, qualifying in January 2027. With a background in financial services administration, Connor is quickly gaining experience across all areas of the business.
Lindsay is our part-time, well-travelled receptionist, helping out on a Thursday and Friday. She has been with Island Hearing since September 2023 and is a welcome asset to our team.
